HUG@Home in pharmacy: Implementation and cost-effectiveness of assisted teleconsultation in community pharmacies in Geneva, Switzerland
Brief project description
HUG@Home in pharmacy aims to implement a pharmacy-assisted medical teleconsultation in community pharmacies in the canton of Geneva, Switzerland.
This service promotes interprofessional collaboration in managing patients consulting with a community pharmacist for non-life-threatening emergencies needing medical assistance. The project aims to integrate 15 pharmacies and offer the service to 900 patients over four years.
Using implementation science, we will develop, adapt, implement and evaluate the service for both health professionals and patients to implement best practices, to analyse the medico-economic impact at the level of the health care system and to prepare for long-term sustainability.
As telehealth is part of the canton of Geneva’s digital health programme, HUG@Home in pharmacy will also act as a blueprint for other developments in the healthcare outpatient network.
